After meeting with the National weather service, Nicholas County Schools will operate on a regular schedule tomorrow November 21, 2024. We will be observing the weather and adjust the school schedule according to how the weather moves in. At this point in time there is a chance we will be releasing 3 hours early. Please plan accordingly in the event we must do that. By attending a school on a normal schedule we will not have to use one of our bank time days.

Due to an unexpected power outage at SES after school has been cancelled 11/6/2024. Again, after school has been cancelled today 11/6/2024. Students will be instructed to be dismissed as they do on Friday's.

Summersville Elementary new morning drop off routine will begin Tuesday, September 3, 2024. K-5 parent drop off remains unchanged from 7:20-7:55. Pre-k bus drop off at cafeteria doors at 7:20. Pre-k vehicle rider drop off: The pre-k bus will load at the Senior Center parking lot from 7:45 AM to 7:55 AM for all pre-k vehicle rider drop-offs. Please pull into the Senior Center parking spaces and park. Walk your child hand-to-hand to the transportation staff and sign your child in. The bus will depart promptly at 7:55 AM to make the second bus drop at the cafeteria doors. We look forward to providing your child the opportunity to become familiar with the school bus and practice bus safety.
We have heard parent concerns about an earlier drop off option for pre-k and we will be working to find a solution to this on Tuesday.
Recently there have been an uptick in phishing emails. The latest was an email imitating Superintendent Beam asking for your cell phone number. Please use caution when sending personal information to anyone. To educate people for their protection you can take this email phishing quiz. It is required that all Nicholas County Schools Employees take this quiz.

This is a reminder Nicholas County Schools will have a 2 hour early dismissal for students on Friday April 21, 2023 due to state mandated faculty senate.
All Nicholas County Schools now have an online payment option, effective February 1, 2023.
Schools often have student fees or activities that require payment. Those payments can now be paid online. Fees such as field trips, spirit wear, activity fees, and more. It is no longer necessary to send cash or checks with students to school: now you can pay online from the comfort of your own home. After registering, please update your profile by adding your mailing address and students enrolled. The student’s WVEIS ID number and last name will be required. An email will be sent to you each time your child has been tagged as a possible participate which may require a fee.
