SES students & families are encouraged to attend the SES Trunk or Treat event on Tuesday, 10/28/25 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm. Parents/families can park in front of the School and walk your students from the Summersville Senior Center side of our school to the McKees Creek side of the building. Local Businesses will be set up on the basketball court of our school handing out candy and goodies. This event is open to SES students and their families ONLY. We are excited to see you in costume - It's sure to be a spooktacular event!
Hello. There will be no evening bus run for 154 today. If your child rides bus 154 in the evening you will need to pick them up in the parent pickup line at 2:30 or make alternate arrangements for your child. Again bus 154 will not be running this evening. Please contact the school if you have any questions.

This message is for all 5th grade student parents or guardians. Due to unfortunate weather circumstances, our 5th graders will be returning home from their trip around 3:15 PM instead of 4:00 PM. Please make arrangements to pick your child up around 3:15. Thank you.
Summersville Elementary will begin West Virginia Generalized Summative Assessment Monday May 12 at 8:00 A. M. in third grade through fifth grade. Please arrive to school in time for your child to have breakfast prior to the beginning of the assessment. Students will take the math assessment Monday, the English Language Arts assessment Tuesday, the Writing assessment on Wednesday, and fifth grade only will take the science test on Thursday. Make up testing will begin Monday May19. All assessment must be completed prior to any scheduled experiential trips or fun days. Get some rest and do your best!! SES will do great.
Nicholas County Schools will be closed tomorrow Wednesday January 22, 2025 due to frigid temperatures. This is a snow day and will have to be made up at the end of the year. School staff is not to report.

All Nicholas County extra-curricular activities are canceled for Friday January 10, and Saturday January 11, 2025 due to a winter storm warning.
Nicholas County Schools are closed Thursday January 9, 2025. This is snow packet day #3. The board meeting and expulsion hearings scheduled to begin at 10 am will still occur.

Summersville Elementary School will be doing a parent volunteer training January 10, 2025 at 9:30 in the cafeteria. This is the last parent volunteer training we will do. The cost for the background check is $10.
